In olento / olio / otus / eläin / eläjä, the performers explore human animality, letting bodily knowledge and movement guide the process. Movement emerges within a sensory space where the need to know what comes next dissolves, and categorical definitions lose their relevance. Perception is attuned to the subtle, sensuous, and playful flow of movement.
The performance is a tribute to all living beings, to corporeality, and to the bodily intelligence we all carry—regardless of species.
Working group / Ollab: Matilda Aaltonen, Taru Aho, Mia Jalerva, Riikka Lakea and Markus Tapio.
Premiere 6.11.2019 at the University of the Arts Helsinki's Theatre Academy.
The work was part of Matilda Aaltonen's thesis in the Master's programme in Dance.
